Due to the writers strike and the striped down Golden Globe awards, more attention is expected to fall on the Online Machinima Film Festival for 2008 this year.
The finale of the festival will be a live awards ceremony held in the virtual online world of Second Life, at a unique 120 seater theatre above the clouds, created and hosted by avid machinima enthusiast and virtual entreprineur and architect HatHead Rickenbacker. Viewers from all over the world will be able to participate from the comfort of their desks, as well as watch the winning films and share in the glory of the winners. Second Life is a 3D virtual world entirely created by its residents. It's free to start a basic account. For more information on the awards ceremony or need advice on getting started with Send Life, please contact Stormy Harker or HatHead Rickenbacker or email
